Stephen offers an ear syringing service either through home visits, or by making an appointment to see him at his clinic in Sandwich.

He has been providing this service to his patients for more than 15 years and has 25+ years experience as a clinician in a variety of areas.

Stephen is fully covered by professional indemnity insurance and also has an Enhanced DBS Check in place for home visits.

Before Your Appointment

• We recommend that you use ear drops 5-7 days before treatment to soften the wax. Our preference is Sodium Bicarbonate ear drops (available from any pharmacy) 3-4 drops in each ear, morning and evening, for 5-7 days.
• It is best to put a plug of cotton wool into the ear after application of the drops and leave in place for a minimum of 15 minutes before removing it.
• Don’t allow the pharmacy assistant to “up-sell” you a more expensive option – Sodium Bicarbonate is best for the job, and one of the cheapest options as well.
• If you cannot tolerate this product, then olive oil ear drops provide a decent alternative.

After Your Appointment

• An appointment takes as long as it takes to do the job but can typically be completed within 30 minutes.
• Hard-to-shift ear wax may occasionally need a follow-up appointment and depending on the length of the appointment will cost between £25 and £50.
